PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that includes a TOSA (optical transmission module) and/or ROSA (optical reception module), and is low in cost but high in physical strength and communication quality.SOLUTION: An optical module comprises: an optical transmission module and/or optical reception module 21 including a first surface 61 on which a first terminal 46, a metal pattern terminal for signal transmission and/or reception, is formed, and a second surface 62 which is a surface different from the first surface and on which a second terminal 47, a metal pattern terminal, is formed; a control board 27 for controlling optical communication in the optical transmission module and/or optical reception module 21; a lead 28 for electrically connecting the first terminal 46 and a third terminal 48 which is a metal pattern terminal in the control board 27; and a flexible board 32 for electrically connecting the second terminal 47 and a fourth terminal 49 which is a metal pattern terminal in the control board 27. |
