PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a core shell catalyst allowing for increase in power generation performance of a membrane electrode assembly.SOLUTION: A method of producing a core shell catalyst is provided that comprises: preparing fluid dispersion in which palladium-containing particle carriers carrying palladium-containing particles on electroconductive carriers are dispersed in water; performing bubbling of hydrogen gas in the dispersion; treating the palladium-containing particles by acid after the bubbling; depositing copper on the surface of the palladium-containing particles by applying an electric potential higher than the oxidation reduction potential of copper to the palladium-containing particles in an electrolytic solution containing copper ions, after the acid treatment; then substituting the copper deposited on the surface of the palladium-containing particles with platinum by bringing platinum-ion-containing solution into contact with the copper deposited on the surface of the palladium-containing particles, thereby forming shells. |
