PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control element in which seismic resistance of a frame can be improved while an increase in rigidity of the frame is suppressed.SOLUTION: A vertical member 30 and a horizontal member 40 constituting a vibration control wall 50 have longitudinal-direction ends 30A, 40A that are connected freely rotatably at connecting parts 37, 39a to gusset plate 60 installed in a frame 11, and the vertical member 30 and the horizontal member 40 are connected freely rotatably at a connecting part 35 at their intersection. Thus, the rigidity of the frame 11 does not, or hardly increases even if the vibration control wall 50 is provided in the frame 11. When the frame 11 is displaced horizontally, the vertical member 30 and the horizontal member 40 rotate relatively at the connecting part 35 of the vertical member 30 and the horizontal member 40, so that a steel tube provided at the connecting part 35 plastically deforms to absorb the rotation energy and control vibration. |
