The present invention relates to a composition comprising sesquiterpene as an active ingredient for preventing or treating neurological diseases. The sesquiterpene according to the present invention inhibits neuronal death induced by amyloid beta, removes reactive oxygen species (ROS), decreases superoxide anion and induces glutathione recovery, thereby can be helpfully used in treating or preventing neurological diseases due to effective protection of nerve cells.
