According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for verifying a fingerprint and supporting different fingerprint input methods comprises: (a) a step of detecting a contact of a first finger which is rubbed to periodically scan a frame image; (b) a step of determining whether a current frame image contains more new areas than a prescribed threshold surface area than a previous frame image; (c) a step of extracting fingerprint feature information from the current frame image if the current frame image contains more new areas than the threshold surface area, and scanning a next frame image if the current frame image does not contain more new areas than the threshold surface area; a step of repeating the (a) step to the (c) step to collect and store extracted fingerprint feature information as fingerprint information of the first finger until the contact of the first finger is ended; a step of detecting a contact of a second finger and scanning an image; and a step of comparing the fingerprint information of the first finger with fingerprint feature information of the second finger to perform fingerprint verification.
