1. A transmitter apparatus for use in utility locating, comprising:
a substantially non-conductive, non-magnetic case; a user interface (UI) for accepting operator commands disposed on or within the case; a resonant coil winding supported by the case and defining a cylinder; a driver circuit board connected to the resonant coil winding and mounted in the case; and a support connected to the case and extensible from the case for supporting the case on a flat surface in a tilted configuration that directs an axis of rotation of the resonant coil into the flat surface. |
