The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating bone diseases comprising an extract of Geranium krameri FR. Et SSAV as an active ingredient. The extract of Geranium krameri FR. Et SSAV decreases expression of NFATc1 and c-FOS protein and inhibits activation of ERK and p38 MAPK in a differentiation process into the osteoclasts by RANKL, thereby inhibiting differentiation into osteoclasts and bone resorption by the osteoclasts; inhibiting bone loss by LPS in a bone loss inducing animal model; and significantly reducing the number of osteoclasts. Therefore, the extract of Geranium krameri FR. Et. SSAV can be usefully used as a composition for preventing or treating bone diseases.
