Provided are an optical film, a liquid crystal display comprising the same, and a method for manufacturing a protective film used therefor. The optical film of the present invention comprises a polarizer and a protective film laminated on at least one surface of the polarizer, wherein the in-plane retardation (Re) of the protective film is in the range of 0 nm to 200 nm, and the thickness-direction retardation (Rth) of the protective film is in the range of 300 nm to 1,200 nm.
