An image pickup apparatus includes a storage unit configured to store a relation between an aperture value and a shutter speed for image restoration, a control unit configured to set the aperture value and the shutter speed based on a shooting condition and the relation stored in the storage unit, and an image pickup unit configured to photoelectrically convert an optical image formed via an image pickup optical system with the set aperture value and shutter speed to output an image, and the image restoration is processing to reduce a deterioration of the image caused by an aberration of the image pickup optical system.

a storage unit configured to store a relation between an aperture value and a shutter speed for image restoration; a control unit configured to set the aperture value and the shutter speed based on a shooting condition and the relation stored in the storage unit; and an image pickup unit configured to photoelectrically convert an optical image formed via an image pickup optical system with the set aperture value and shutter speed to output an image, wherein the image restoration is processing to reduce a deterioration of the image caused by an aberration of the image pickup optical system.
