<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents charges from leaking into an image carrier from a transfer device through perforations. <P>SOLUTION: A transfer device voltage control system 48 includes a perforation detecting device 50, a grounding control section 52, and a grounding switch 54. Upon detecting a perforation 22, the perforation detecting device 50 outputs a signal to the grounding control section 52. Upon receiving the signal from the perforation detecting device 50, the grounding control section 52 turns on the grounding switch 54. When the grounding switch 54 is turned on, the transfer device 36 is grounded. Consequently the application of voltage to the transfer device 36 becomes zero. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
