The present invention relates to a terminal coupling diagnosis system used in an audio/video navigation (AVN) system and a method thereof. The device adds a circuit to a head unit (H/UNIT) of an audio navigation unit or AVN unit for automatic diagnosis, utilizes an existing signal line such as an AUX_DETECT line without adding separate cables, and configures an AUX cable and a USB cable separately in order to simultaneously diagnose the connection of two bundled cables. According to the present invention, the device includes: a power discharging unit which discharges the power supply applied to a multimedia terminal unit for outputting an audio signal in the AVN system; a power supply unit which applies the power to the multimedia terminal unit while a first external output terminal and a second external output terminal of the multimedia terminal unit are connected to each other; and a terminal coupling status determining unit which determines the terminal coupling status of the AVN system, based on a voltage detected from the multimedia terminal unit. |
