PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cubic boron nitride composite polycrystalline material having a surface to which a (111) surface having high abrasion resistance orients and having high hardness, to provide a cutting tool having abrasion resistance of a surface which wears at working, and to provide an abrasion tool.SOLUTION: A cubic boron nitride composite polycrystalline material is constituted by wurtzite type boron nitride, cubic boron nitride and inevitable impurities, and has alignment surface having a percentage content of wurtzite type boron nitride of 0.1 to 90 vol.%, an average particle diameter of the cubic boron nitride of 500 nm or less, a ratio of an X-ray diffraction strength Iof a (220) surface of the cubic boron nitride to the X-ray diffraction strength Iof a (111) surface of the cubic boron nitride, I/I, of less than 0.1. |
