TEST METHOD FOR TIP OF SPOT WELLDING GUN

The present invention relates to a test method for a tip of a spot welding gun, comprising: an imaging acquiring step of acquiring a lateral surface image and a plane surface image of a pair of welding tips facing each other; a noise removing step of removing noise appearing in the acquired lateral surface image and the plane surface image; a binarization data obtaining step of binarizing the lateral surface image and the plane surface image based on a contrast difference between the lateral surface image and the plane surface image to obtain lateral surface binarization data and plane surface binarization data; an edge extraction step of extracting edge of the welding tips based on the obtained lateral surface binarization data and the plane surface binarization data; a straightness measuring step of measuring a straightness based on a result of whether a pair of virtual lines extending from a lateral surface edge of the respective welding tips of the extracted edge of the welding tips are matching to each other; and a zero point examination step of measuring a centering distance between the front end edges of the welding tips, and comparing the measured distance value with a predetermined reference value to examine a zero point of the welding tips. According to the present invention, the test method for a tip of a spot welding gun has the effects of significantly reducing a time spent on an examination operation and remarkably improve a reliability of the test results as the lateral surface image and the plane surface image of the welding tips are binarized to extract edge of the welding tips and then the straightness measured and the zero point of the welding tips examined using the acquired edge of the welding tips such that the examination process of a plurality of welding tips are conducted in one apparatus.
