<p>A mounting structure for installing a lightning arrester 6a,b to multiple tension insulator strings 2, wherein the lightning arrester 6a,b is divided into the earth side 6a and the line side 6b, each part installed to different respective tension insulator strings 2 in such a way that the structure is balanced. The mass of the lightning arrester parts 6a,b may be almost equal. The arrangement may suppress torsion of the tension insulator assembly 1. Further, the lightning arrester parts 6a,b may each have a mass nearly half the weight of a conventional lightning arrester and, installed at both ends of the tension insulator strings 2, reduce the load stress on the mounting hardware fittings 5a,b. This aims to reduce the risk of damage to the mounting hardware fittings 5a,b.</p> |
