The present invention relates to a temperature control apparatus of a mattress having a cooling and heating function capable of controlling a heating temperature of a heat radiation plate to be a previously established optimum temperature condition automatically, in order to optimize an endothermic operation of a reaction plane of a thermoelectric element at a heating mode. For this, the temperature control apparatus of the present invention comprises: the heat radiation plate which is installed around the reaction plane of the thermoelectric element mounted in a heat exchanger controlling the temperature of a thermal medium provided to the mattress, and maintains a temperature difference between an action plane and the reaction plane of the thermoelectric element within a range of the optimum temperature condition by radiating heat generated in the thermoelectric element or delivering the heat provided from the outside to the reaction plane of the thermoelectric element; an electric heating unit which is installed around the heat radiation plate and is configured to heat the heat radiation plate by a control current; a temperature sensing unit for (i) sensing the temperature of the thermal medium supplied into an inside of the mattress or collected, (ii) sensing the temperature of the heat radiation plate, or (iii) selectively sensing the temperature difference between the action plane and the reaction plane of the thermoelectric element; and a control part for (i) controlling the operation of the electric heating unit according to a manual manipulation of a user, or (ii) controlling the operation of the electric heating unit according to temperature information sensed by the temperature sensing unit. |
