A method for investigating submarine sedimentary layers is disclosed. The method for investigating submarine sedimentary layers according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: selecting a survey target area near the land and acquiring elastic wave data about the submarine sedimentary layers in the survey target area from a seismic survey (a1); acquiring actual investigation data about a land outcrop of a survey target sedimentary layer in at least one area on the land by performing an actual investigation of the strike and dip of the land outcrop (b1); acquiring augmented data about the land outcrop by augmenting the actual investigation data by extrapolation until the at least one area reaches the survey target area (c1); and comparing the augmented data about the land outcrop with the elastic wave data and determining the horizons in the elastic wave data showing the dip characteristics the most closely matched to the augmented data about the land outcrop as horizons corresponding to the survey target sedimentary layer (d1).
