A decoding method for a Manchester-encoded signal, comprising: forming a moving data average with a data average time for the Manchester-encoded signal; forming a decoded data signal from the moving data average by a data comparator, wherein the decoded data signal is made available; forming a moving clock average with a clock average time for the Manchester-encoded signal; forming a clock signal at least from the moving clock average by a clock comparator, wherein the clock signal is available; forming a moving EOT average with an EOT average time for the Manchester-encoded signal, wherein the EOT average time is longer than at least one of the data average time and the clock average time; and forming an EOT signal from the moving EOT average by an EOT comparator, wherein the EOT signal is made available.
