A method for modulating an immune response comprising contacting an immune cell from a subject having Hodgkin lymphoma in vitro with an agent that modulates the interaction between galectin-1 (Gal1) or a fragment thereof and its natural binding partner(s), wherein the agent is a blocking antibody, or an antigen-binding fragment thereof, that recognizes Gal1, and wherein the agent does not comprise a Hodgkin lymphoma-specific antigen, an antigen-binding molecule thereof, or an immune cell obtained from the subject, to thereby modulate the immune response. |
