PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit, in a fuel vapor treatment device using a step motor type blocking valve as a shut-off valve in the path connecting a canister and a fuel tank, an amount of fuel vapor sucked in an engine from abruptly changing accompanied with initialization of a step motor in loss of synchronism by performing the initialization of the step motor in loss of synchronism at the timing not adversely affecting engine operation.SOLUTION: A fuel vapor treatment device comprises: initialization means for executing initialization while moving a step motor type blocking valve 24 to a predetermined initial position; and initialization command means for commanding the execution of initialization by the initialization means when loss of synchronism of a step motor is detected and when by detecting whether or not it is at an initialization time which is determined beforehand as the timing not adversely affecting engine operation, it is detected to be at the initialization time. |
