PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce data volume of print resources that must be transferred to a printing device and/or stored in a storage unit.SOLUTION: A method comprises steps of having a control system: determine print data to be used by a printing device to generate a print image; identify a first print resource having a resource file that contains usable data and metadata based on the print data; determine a first identifier of the first print resource, which is dependent on the usable data of the first print resource and is independent of the metadata; check whether the first print resource is already stored in a storage unit of the printing device or not based on the first identifier; and, if the first print resource is found to be already stored in the storage unit, instruct the print device to generate a print image using the first print resource stored in the storage unit without re-transferring the first print resource from the control system to the printing device. |
