PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device and an image forming device that enable reading of a resin card group of small size and large thickness while contributing to miniaturization of the device body and shortening of reading time, and are adaptable to diversification of reading of documents.SOLUTION: An image reading device has a document tray 51 for mounting a document as an image reading target, a supply port 55a through which a document mounted on the document tray 51 is taken out, a document feeding unit 52 for feeding a document taken out through the supply port 55a, an image sensor 411 which is disposed in the document feeding unit 52 and reads out an image of the document being fed, a second document image reading device 69 which is disposed in the document feeding unit 52 and reads out an image at the other surface side of the document being fed, a supply port 72 through which a document is supplied to some middle portion of the document feeding unit 52 separately from the supply port 55a, and a document feeding passage 56 located on the same flat plane on which a feeding passage extending from the support port 72 through the second document image reading device 69 to a discharge port 55b is located. |
