PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of reducing reprocessing and reoperations due to inconsistency between detection information by various kinds of detection means and an actual set state of a sheet.SOLUTION: A paper feeder feeds a sheet (document) P mounted on a paper feed tray 20 toward an image reading section. The paper feeder includes: a feeding roller 27 brought into contact with the document P on the paper feed tray 20 so as to feed the document P; first detection means (size sensor) S1 for detecting the document P on the paper feed tray 20 on an upstream side of the feeding roller 27; and second detection means (setting sensor) S2 for detecting a tip of the document P on the paper feed tray 20 on a downstream side of the feeding roller 27. The feeding roller 27 is operated in a state that the size sensor S1 detects the document P and the setting sensor S2 does not detect the document P. |
