PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-impregnated capacitor capable of extending the service life in a normal use state and reliably avoiding a serious accident due to nonoperation of a protection device by suppressing excess absorption of hydrogen gas that interferes the operation of the protection device.SOLUTION: A capacitor unit 3 is stored in an outer case 2 and an insulating oil 4 filled in the outer case is impregnated inside the capacitor unit. A safety device 7 (protection device) operates by an internal pressure of the outer case when the pressure in the outer case reaches a specified level by the hydrogen gas generated from the insulating oil and cuts off an oil-impregnated capacitor 1 from an electric circuit by breaking lead plates 15, 15 which are normally in a conductive state. Furthermore, a hydrogen occlusion member 8, which is disposed in a space where the insulating oil is present outside the capacitor unit in the outer case, occludes the hydrogen gas generated from the insulating oil. |
