PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that achieves a long service life and can inhibit image irregularity or image deletion in a high-temperature and high-humidity environment while maintaining good toner cleaning property.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor having a protective layer comprising a cured resin; charging means employing a proximity charging system to charge a surface of the photoreceptor; exposing means for exposing the photoreceptor; developing means for supplying a toner to the photoreceptor to from a toner image; transfer means for transferring the toner image; lubricant supply means for supplying a lubricant to the surface of the photoreceptor; cleaning means for removing the toner remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor; and lubricant removing means for removing the lubricant from the surface of the photoreceptor. The lubricant removing means comprises a brush having a brush fiber material to be in contact with the photoreceptor, in which at least a surface of the brush fiber material to be in contact with the photoreceptor is coated with a layer of metal oxide fine particles. |
