PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm rest which improves the ability to hold an entire front arm of an occupant seated on a vehicle seat, and to provide the vehicle seat.SOLUTION: A front arm support surface 20 for supporting a front arm P1 of an occupant seated on a seat is formed on an upper surface of an arm rest body 16 of an arm rest 10 in a use position. A protruding part 22 protruding upward is formed at the front side of the front arm support surface 20. The other portion of the front arm support surface 20, which is located at the rear side relative to the protruding part 22, is formed as a general surface 24. Thus, when the occupant seated on the vehicle seat places the entire front arm P1 on the front arm support surface 20 in a manner that the front arm is arranged parallel to the arm rest body 16, a fist P2 side portion of the front arm P1 is placed on the protruding part 22 of the front arm support surface 20 and a rear arm P3 side portion of the front arm P1 is placed on the general surface 24 of the front arm support surface 20. As a result, a portion in a wide range of the entire front arm P1 is placed in contact with the front arm support surface 20 and thus the portion in the wide range of the entire front arm P1 is held by the front arm support surface 20. |
