The present invention provides a cassette type seal which improves usage characteristics at a low temperature. The cassette type seal (1) comprises: a cylindrical part (3) supported by a rotary mechanical element (4); a cover part (5) protruding from the cylindrical part (3) in a radial direction; and a coating part (6) protruding from the cover part (5) in an axial direction. The coating part (6) comprises an internal ring (2) separated radially from the cylindrical part (3), a flange (8) of an axial direction supported by a housing (9) to be sealed, a radial flange (10) protruding in the direction of the internal ring (2) and an external ring (7) comprising a seal main body (11) made of an elastomer accompanied by the flange (8) in the axial direction. A plurality of seal lips protrude from the seal main body (11). According to the seal lips, a first seal lip (12) comes in contact with an outer circumference of the cylindrical part by receiving pre-load in the radial direction. A second seal lip (13) protrudes from the flange (10) of the radial direction in the axial direction and at the same time is extended in the direction of a side part of the coating part (6), and the side part faces the cylindrical part (3). A third seal lip (4) protrudes over the radial flange (10) in the axial direction, and at least a part thereof protrudes over the coating part (6) on the outer circumference. |
