A method for converting, between two terminal devices, a local number formed according to a local dial plan, into a global number formed according to a global dial plan, one of the two terminal devices being connected to a termination point identified by a local number of the local dial plan, comprising the following steps: - receiving, from a device of the network, a conversion request in relation with a multimedia session, comprising the local number and a location address of a conversion rule for converting a number in the local format into a global number for said local dial plan; - obtaining the conversion rule from a device located at the location address; - converting the local number into a global number, using the conversion rule; - sending the global number to the network device that issued the conversion request. |
