PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selection switch capable of being reduced in size and simplifying a manufacturing process.SOLUTION: A wavelength selection switch 1A comprises: a light input/output part 10 including a light input port 11a and a plurality of light output ports 11b; a wavelength dispersion element 30 splitting light including a plurality of wavelength components by wavelength; an optical deflection element 40 deflecting the direction of incident light; and an optical system 50A optically coupling the light input/output part 10, the wavelength dispersion element 30, and the optical deflection element 40 along a prescribed axis A1. The optical system 50A includes: a mirror 54 bending the prescribed axis A1; a polarization separation element 20 separating first and second polarization components included in an input beam inputted by the light input port 11a and having polarization planes different from each other; and a polarization adjustment element 60 making the polarization plane of one polarization component separated by the polarization separation element 20 close to the polarization plane of the other polarization component. The polarization adjustment element 60 is fixed to the mirror 54. |
