PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant resistance inducer having a novel chemical structure for growing plants strong against disease stress.SOLUTION: A resistance inducer comprises a compound represented by formula (1) as an active ingredient. In the formula Ris a Calkyl group, an aryl group, a substituted aryl group or an arylmethyl group; X is formula (1a) or formula (1b); Ris an aryl group or a substituted aryl group; and n is an integer of 1-4 (excluding a compound in which Ris a methyl group, X is formula (1a) or formula (1b), Ris a phenyl group or a methylenedioxyphenyl group, and n is 1).
