PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents a decrease in the accuracy of detection of a remaining amount of sheets.SOLUTION: A feeding unit includes: a sheet loading plate on which print sheets are loaded; a driving section for driving the sheet loading plate to travel in the upward direction via a resilient wire in response to an amount of loaded print sheets; and an elastic body for applying power corresponding to the position of the sheet loading plate to the sheet loading plate in the direction opposite to the upward direction. The elastic body has an elastic coefficient such that the sum of the weight of loaded print sheets and the power applied by the elastic body in the opposite direction is approximately constant regardless of the position of the sheet loading plate. |
