PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure highly reliable operation and achieve the efficient use of stabilized gas even in a case of burning combustion gas whose heating value fluctuates and/or is excessively low.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises: at least one combustion chamber 2 to which air L, combustion gas B, and stabilized gas S can be supplied; at least one sensor 3 for measuring at least one engine fluctuation factor (λ, p); an open loop control unit or a closed loop control unit 4 connected to the at least one sensor 3, and a quantity of the stabilized gas S supplied to the at least one combustion chamber 2 being able to be controlled by an open loop control or a closed loop control in response to the at least one engine fluctuation factor (λ, p).
