<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of quickly notifying an arrangement position of a failed light source out of a plurality of light sources in the display device using the plurality of light sources as backlights, and to provide a control method of the display device. <P>SOLUTION: A display device 100 includes: a liquid crystal panel 2; a plurality of LEDs; a current control part 32 for controlling a driving current to the LEDs; a state detecting circuit 33 for detecting abnormality of light emission of the LEDs; and a control part 50, in response to the detection of the abnormality by the state detecting circuit 33, controlling the current control part 32. In such display device 100, when the state detecting circuit 33 detects an abnormality in any one of the LEDs, the control part 50 controls the current control part 32 such that a light-emitting luminance of an LED that is disposed adjacent to the abnormal LED whose abnormality has been detected is differed from the light-emitting luminance of the other LEDs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
