<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader, an image reader control method, and an image reader control program capable of effectively notifying a user that a specific document is detected. <P>SOLUTION: An MFP as an image reader comprises: an image reading part 21 for reading images of documents; a specific document detection part 43 which detects a specific document from the images read by the image reading part 21; a control panel 39 which performs preview display of the images read by the image reading part 21; and an image output part 27 which outputs the image read by the image reading part 21 except the image of the specific document detected by the specific document detection part 43.
