Disclosed is a decoding circuit for a rotary encoder. The decoding circuit for a rotary encoder of the present invention, wherein a decoding circuit for a rotary encoder, comprises: a first switch and a second switch whose order of turning on is changed in accordance to a direction of rotation of a rotor, and provides a first signal and a second signal to respectively correspond to the switching status of the first switch and the second switch including a rotation direction determining unit to generate and output a rotational direction signal corresponding to a normal direction or a reverse direction by corresponding to a first internal signal activated when the first signal or the second signal is changed into a level corresponding to the turning on, a second internal signal, activated when the first signal and the second signal are both changed into a level corresponding to the turning on, and changes the level of the first signal and the second signal in accordance to the order of turning on; a logic level monitoring unit to generate and output a third internal signal activated when the level of the first signal and the second signal is kept to be a level corresponding to the turning off for a certain time after the first signal or the second signal is changed into a level corresponding to the turning on; a signal determining unit to determine the first signal and the second signal as the normal signal when the third internal signal is activated while the second internal signal is activated and to activate and output an enable signal; and a counter to output a counting signal made by increasing or decreasing a predetermined default value in accordance to the rotational direction signal when the enable signal is activated. |
