<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter opening and closing mechanism that can convey developer using an elastic member that applies elastic force to a shutter member to close an opening, a developer storage container, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A shutter opening and closing mechanism includes: an opening 108 that opens on a developer storage container that accommodates developer; a developer conveying member that is arranged inside the developer storage container, and conveys the developer to the opening 108; a shutter member 120 that opens and closes the opening 108; and an elastic member 125 that applies elastic force to the shutter member 120 to close the opening 108.
