The device has a computer unit with an input device and an output unit. The unit is formed to provide a data record, in which an illuminated object (41) is represented, and to determine a goal volume (43) in the illuminated object. The unit is formed to determine a safety seam for the goal volume which is illuminated in dependence of a determined measure. An independent claim is included for a method for providing an irradiation plan.
