This document provides methods and materials related to treating liver conditions. For example, the methods and materials relating to the use of cAMP inhibitors to treat liver conditions are provided.

1. A method for inhibiting cyst growth, said method comprising:
(a) identifying liver tissue comprising a liver cyst, and (b) contacting said liver cyst with a somatostatin analog under conditions wherein the growth rate of said liver cyst is reduced as compared to the growth rate of a comparable liver cyst not contacted with said somatostatin analog.
