The present invention efficiently provides users with information that interests said users. This information provision device is provided with the following: a document-tag generation unit that, for each of a plurality of documents, computes the degree of relevance thereof to each of a plurality of tags and generates a document tag consisting of the set of said degrees of relevance; a document-tag storage unit that stores the document tags in association with the documents; a user-information storage unit that stores, in association with users, user-document information pertaining to user documents related to users; a user-tag generation unit that computes the degree of relevance of each user document to each of the plurality of tags on the basis of that user-document information and generates user tags consisting of the sets of said degrees of relevance; a user-tag storage unit that stores the user tags in association with the abovementioned users; a similarity-degree computation unit that computes degrees of similarity between the document tags and the user tags; and a document-information provision unit that provides each user with document information pertaining to the documents associated with the document tags for which the degrees of similarity with that user's user tag satisfy a given condition.
