A wire electric discharge machine which relatively moves a wire electrode containing brass and a workpiece in accordance with a machining program to machine the workpiece by electric discharge produced between the wire electrode and the workpiece, the wire electric discharge machine configured to:
obtain a machining shape from the machining program; calculate a position of a center of gravity of the machining shape and set an attachment/deposition region in which machining chips containing brass produced during machining are attached and deposited to the workpiece at intersections of two orthogonal straight lines, each passing through the position of the center of gravity of the machining shape, with the machining shape; and attach and deposit machining chips containing brass produced during machining to the workpiece according to the set attachment/deposition region. |
