The present invention relates to an outgoing call control method used by a vehicle head unit having a voice recognition function. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the outgoing call control method includes the steps of: connecting a user device and Bluetooth communication when vehicle power is on; checking whether there is an existing voice recognition database; and downloading phone book information from the user device through the connected Bluetooth communication. If there is such existing voice recognition database according to the check result, a voice recognition operation for an outgoing call is executed by using the existing voice recognition database while downloading the phone book information. Accordingly, the present invention can minimize the inconvenience of users caused by an erroneous voice recognition operation during the outgoing call in a vehicle.
