A gear unit according to the present invention comprises: a first shaft (101) and a second shaft (102) for connecting to an external mechanical system; at least one gear stage (103) disposed between the first and the second shaft; a lubricant oil room (104) to store lubricant oil; an oil channel (105) to transport the lubricant oil from the lubricant oil room to the at least one gear stage; and an immersion heater (106) to heat the lubricant oil flowing in the lubricant oil room towards an inlet (107) of the oil channel. The gear unit further comprises a mechanical flow guide (108) which is disposed in the lubricant oil room, and changes a flow of the lubricant oil flowing towards the inlet of the oil channel to increase a flow velocity of the lubricant oil on a surface of the immersion heater. When the flow velocity on the surface of the immersion heater is increased, a higher heating output can be used without damaging the lubricant oil. |
