This invention provides an electromagnetic contactor in which a shock-absorbing member and a frame are formed as a single unit, thereby producing a shock-absorption effect with a reduced number of components. Said electromagnetic contactor is provided with a first frame (11A) and a second frame (11B). An electromagnet (12) for operating the electromagnetic contactor is contained inside the first frame (11A), and a coil terminal (25) that energizes the coil of said electromagnet (12) is formed on the first frame (11A) so as to protrude from a side surface thereof. A contact mechanism that has an auxiliary contact is contained inside the second frame (11B), which has a power-supply-side terminal (32a) on one side thereof and a load-side terminal (32b) on the other side thereof. A snap-fit (37) that allows the second frame (11B) to be attached to the first frame (11A) in either a normal-direction connection state in which the coil terminal (25) and the power-supply-side terminal (32a) face the same direction or a reverse-direction connection state in which the coil terminal (25) and the load-side terminal (32b) face the same direction is formed on the first frame (11A) and the second frame (11B).
