IN VITRO DIAGNOSTIC FOR MODEL-BASED THERAPY PLANNING BACKGROUND

<p>A compact in vitro diagnostic (IVD) device is used to provide in vitro model-based diagnosis and a basis for model-based therapy planning. The IVD device and an associated procedure may be used to assess the effect of drugs on the electrophysiological phenotype of cardiomyocytes or any cell of a patient. The effects may be assessed in a clinical environment. The assessed information for the patient may be combined with clinical data for the patient and provided to a database. The database may collect the assessment results and clinical patient data for a plurality of patients. The information in the database may be used to assist in therapy planning for future patients.</p>
