The present invention provides a method for controlling the energy of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. According to the present invention, the energy controlling method comprises: a step of determining whether a user is absent from a usage space to control energy; a step of determining whether an energy control is started based on an outgo pattern regarding the probability that the user is away and the time while the user is away, which are extracted based on previously collected and stored data when an absence of the user is determined; a step of extracting a comfort temperature of the user based on the previously collected and stored data when a start of the energy control is determined; a step of calculating a setback control start temperature and a setback control start time based on the desired energy reduction rate and temperature returning time which are previously stored; and a step of performing the energy control in accordance with the calculated setback control start temperature and the setback control start time. |
