An aircraft marking system for an external surface of an aircraft comprises a photoluminescent material that provides visibility in darkness, a reflective material that provides visibility when illuminated by a light source, and colour that provides visibility in daylight. The marking system is applied to the wings, especially wing tips and other areas of the aircraft to reduce the risk of damage from impacts when the aircraft is on the ground and/or to indicate areas for accessing the interior of the aircraft in an emergency. |
