<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a primary battery which is shaped in a fibrous form and which contributes to the increase in the output and capacity of a primary battery when it is used in the battery, and to provide a primary battery with the electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode (1, 2) used for a primary battery (C) comprises: a current collector (3, 5) made of a conductive fibrous material; and an active material layer (4, 6) deposited on the surface of the current collector.
