PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device suppressing the shortening of the life and preventing blurred video when displayed.SOLUTION: An image display device 1 comprises an image display module 10, a detection unit, and a control unit. One embodiment of the detection unit is a motion detection unit 25. One embodiment of the control unit is a selecting signal control pulse generation unit 24 and a light emission time control pulse generation unit 26. The motion detection unit 25 detects the motion of a subject from a plurality of frames based on a video signal. When a video based on the video signal is displayed by the image display module 10, the light emission time control pulse generation unit 26 reduces a light emission time for a frame row area corresponding to an area where the motion detection unit 25 detects a motion than for a frame row area corresponding to an area where no motion is detected. |
