<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric element which prevents defects due to deformation occurring during burning and a manufacturing method of the piezoelectric element. <P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 1 includes: a laminated body 2 where first to fourth piezoelectric layers 4, 6, 8, 10 are laminated and having a surface 2a arranged perpendicular to the lamination direction of the first to fourth piezoelectric layers 4, 6, 8, 10; multiple individual electrodes 20 disposed on the surface 2a of the laminated body 2; a common electrode 30 which is disposed in the laminated body 2 and where voltage is applied between itself and the multiple individual electrodes 20; and dummy electrodes 22 which is disposed on the surface 2a of the laminated body 2 and where voltage is not applied between itself and the common electrode 30. The surface 2a of the laminated body 2 has an outer region arranged along an outer peripheral edge part E and an inner region enclosed by the outer region.
