<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device which can precisely go straight ahead by suppressing deviation of travel distance due to difference between wheel diameters, slip between wheels and rails, or the like, in the cutting device using main and sub travelling carriages in a friction system, and to provide a method for driving the carriages of the cutting device. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting device 100 includes: the main and sub travelling carriages 10 and 10 which are connected by a beam 11 and travel with friction drive; and a cutting means which is arranged at the beam 11. The main and sub travelling carriages 10 and 10 each have a drive motor, a driving wheel, a coupled driving wheel and a position detecting means detecting a rotation quantity of the coupled driving wheel. A controller C includes a travel distance correcting means which corrects rotation of the drive motor on the basis of difference between rotation quantities detected, when the main and sub travelling carriages 10 and 10 are moved through a predetermined distance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
