An intelligent battery sensor for a vehicle is provided. The sensor comprises: a data packing unit which extracts IBS inner data variables having an influence on a detection operation of an abnormal overcurrent module, and packs the variables; a volatile memory which temporarily stores the packed IBS inner data variables; a breakdown and effectiveness diagnostic unit which monitors the packed IBS inner data variables stored in the volatile memory, diagnoses whether a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) related to abnormal overcurrent occurs, and classifies, when it is diagnosed that the a DTC occurs, a predetermined number of packed IBS inner data variables just before the DTC occurrence on the basis of the DTC occurrence time point and a predetermined number of packed IBS inner data variables just after the DTC occurrence; and a nonvolatile memory which reads the classified IBS inner data variables from the volatile memory, and stores the classified IBS inner data variables. |
